Crazy children

Conor, Katie and a penguin!
We put our Christmas tree up at the weekend too!  I am in the process of putting all my cross stitched ornaments on too!  Here is one that a very good friend of mine stitched for me way back in 2008!!  I must say, its been a very long time since I was in a Round Robin or an Exchange so I think I might sort a few out for 2017!!

Beautiful!
I have done a few bits of sewing but as they are for gifts I cannot show you!!  I have been teaching the children in Year 5, at the wee ones school, to sew!  That was great fun!!

I am now in the process of setting up a sewing club at the school!  I'm really excited!

Here is me looking very serious lol
I got my Christmas present early off Laura (my eldest) and her Hubby-To-Be Johnny ....

A craft work space in my bedroom!!
This is totally brilliant!!  Now, I can leave my machine (and mess!!) out and use it when I want too rather than keep moving everything so we can use the dining room table!!  WOW!!  I am totally delighted!!

No other news really!  Just busy busy busy getting organised for Christmas!!
Keep safe and well!!

Totally Crazy Busy but I love it!

Good Evening,

Once again it has been a good few weeks since I have posted on here!  I have been so busy having fun that at the end of each day I have just flopped!

First of all I have actually finished my very first quilt.  I am totally delighted with myself!  Yes it has some flaws and its not perfect but I do not care because I made it!

Quilt Back
I am totally delighted and chuffed with myself!!

I am in the process of organising my new craft work space which has been 'installed' in my bedroom :D  Oh my oh my oh my, I am going to have lots of space to make and create, plus a space for writing my pen-pal letters!!  This is my Christmas Present from Laura and her hubby to be!!  I cannot wait to show you!

The past 2 weeks I have gone into the kiddies school 2 afternoons each week and taught a sewing class :D  It is great fun!!  We are hand sewing a gift for Christmas!  Oh my the children have taken to it like ducks to water!!  I cannot show you any photos yet as I do not want to spoil the surprise for the children's parents!  I made some pin cushions so they would not lose needles!  That was great fun!!

My box of goodies ready for sewing class

The best thing happened last week ... My parents came over for a week!!!  :D  :D  Brilliant to see them!!  We had a ball!!  We sat and chatted or went out for a short while. Mum took some of the kiddies on the bus into town whilst I entertained dad lol!!  We just had a lovely relaxing time. Cannot wait to do it again :D  #MakingMemories

I hope you are all well!  Today is the start of the kiddies Hallowe'en Holidays for the kiddies!

The last week or so we have been busy with our sewing machines :D

Katie is so pleased with herself and so she should be!

I have made myself a bag :D  The fabric was gorgeous to stitch on and I got it from Sewing-Online. Fantastic online shop with brilliant customer service!  I just loved this fabric and because I used most of it I ordered myself some more!!  Shhhh don't tell my bank manager lol :D

Sewing, 5K and back on the road again!!

Good Morning!

All seems to be getting back to normal here now, thank goodness! We now have a new car so fingers crossed that no one decided to try and 'hitch a ride on the back of our car with theirs!!'

First off I have to 'brag' about Mark and Katie!!  They did a 5K run/walk with the school a few weekends ago!!  They are so pleased with themselves!  It was totally pouring down with rain too!  They were totally drenched.  Shoes took days to dry out lol I am so proud of them!  Since I could not take part after the accident, one of their school assistants said he would take them with him and his dog!  They were leaving last to make sure all the participants had not got lost or fallen ill during the run/walk!!  Mark and Katie didn't mind knowing they were going to be in last as they really wanted to do the run/walk!  It was a fun run/walk so what did it matter!!  They really had a great time walking the dog too!

Katie coming 'home'

Mark and Ellie the dog coming 'home'

They did it in an hour and 10 mins as they 'went out'
about 20 mins after everyone else
As you can see they are very wet looking lol!!

Still suffering the effects of the whip lash and cant sit and sew for long like I used too but I am sure things will get better in time!

I spent a few days making this Jelly Roll quilt!  I am delighted with it.  I didn't have one solid piece large enough for the back so I made my own!!

This weekend we have declared a SAS weekend ... Sit And Sew!!  Lets hope that all goes to plan haha  I hope SEW!!  lol

Bye for now
Take care

Stitching, sewing, school and a crash!

Good Morning to you all!

The kiddies are all back to school.  Conor has started Secondary school with ease :D  He is really enjoying it! Which I am quite pleased about!!

Conor's First Day
2nd September 2016
Conor and Ryan
Mark, Katie and Cara are back to school too!!  Mark's last year at Primary School! So I feel like I have deja vu the past 3 years lol One boy after the other leaving Primary school!  At least I will have a rest for a few years before it is Katie's turn!!

Cara, Katie and Mark off to school on 1st September
During the summer I got little chance to do much but I did make a pencil case for Cara!
She is totally delighted with it :D

Caras pencil case
11 August 2016

We had fun and Ice-cream in the park
24th August 2016

I finished my Joan Elliott SAL and had it framed!
(17th August 2016)

Now back onto Charlie Bear
(as at 20 August 2016)

I am trying to stitch a wee Egyptian hanger for Katie's teacher as their topic this month is all about Egypt but I can sit for very long and craft ... something that would normally take me a couple of days has taken about a 5 days!  A few stitches then I have to put it down and my shoulders, back and arms start to hurt :(

Why?

Well, on 1st September some woman, who was not looking where she was driving, drove straight into the back of me whilst I was waiting to turn right!  I had been there for about 30 seconds and she came flying down the road and smashed straight into the back of me!!  She was NOT looking at the road!! Wonder what she was looking at??  Laura and Abby were in the car too!  Everyone is battered and bruised.  Laura's arm is in a splint.  Lucky nothing is too seriously damaged, except the car has been written off!!  That woman came at us with some speed that's for sure!

So at the moment we are taking things easy!  Not quite the start to the new school year I had planned!!

So, with luck I hope to be back to my normal self soon!  I am sore from head to toe!!

Have fun and Keep Safe!!
Bye for now
Love me
